Tonight's Game...Wichita State (20-5, 8-4) travels
to Evansville (6-17, 0-13) in the first meeting
between the two teams this season.
•Evansville is the last opponent the Shockers have
not played in 2009-10, but the Shockers have
completed the home-and-home series with Ind.
St., No. Iowa, Illinois St., Drake and Creighton.
•Wichita State is receiving votes in the Feb. 8 AP
Top 25 poll for the fourth week this year, and has
five points for the second-straight week. WSU
also had five points in the Feb. 1 AP Top 25 poll.
•Earlier this season, WSU also received votes in
both the Dec. 21 and Dec. 28 AP Top 25 polls after
the Texas Tech win. WSU also got one point in the
ESPN/USA Today Top 25 poll Dec. 28. Prior to that,
WSU last received votes on Jan. 8, 2007.
•WSU was last ranked Dec. 25, 2006 (16th in the
AP after a season high of 8th). WSU's highest ranking
was No. 1 for two games in 1964-65. WSU has
six times played the No. 1 team in the country.
•The Shockers are 2-1 against the Top 25 this
season. WSU defeated the two top 25 teams this
season, most recently in then-No. 20 UNI, 60-51
on Jan. 19. UNI was the second ranked team WSU
defeated in Charles Koch Arena this season as
Texas Tech was ranked No. 16 on Dec. 19, exactly
one month previous. WSU also lost to then-No. 22
UNI, 59-56, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, on Feb. 3.
• WSU is coming off a 76-70 win against Indiana

Kansas 22, ESPN2, ESPNU or MVC-TV (Fox). With
the added television for BracketBusters and the
MVC Wildcard game, WSU will have 18 of its final
19 games on television.
•WSU completed the non-conference portion of
the schedule, excluding the Bracketbusters event,
with a nine-game winning streak, including a
win over then No. 16 Texas Tech.
•WSU's 11-1 start matched its best start since
2004-05, while the 17-3 start was also the best
through 20 games since a 17-3 start in the 2004-
05 season. The 2004-05 team started 18-3 before
losing three-straight.
