WICHITA, Kan.- The Wichita State women's tennis team will
head to Fort Worth, Texas for a match against No. 19 TCU on Saturday, March 8
at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
TCU (8-1) has won five straight matches, including a 4-2
victory over UT-Arlington on Wednesday, March 6. Sophomore Stefanie Tan is 12-5
on the season in singles play and senior Olivia Smith has won eight consecutive
singles contests. Smith and Millie Nichols lead the Horned Frogs at the No. 1
doubles position with a record of 7-1.
Wichita State (5-7, 1-0) is playing their eighth match
against a ranked opponent this season. The Shockers defeated UT-Arlington 4-1
on Thursday, March 7 after getting their first conference victory of the season
against Creighton on Sunday, March 3.
Freshman Rebecca Pedrazzi has a record of 14-8 in singles
play and junior Montse Blasco Fernandez is 13-7 on the season. Julia Schiller
has won three consecutive matches to put herself at 5-2 in singles play.
