KAZAN, Russia – Wichita State senior Tomas Cotter, representing his home country of Ireland, finished 10th in the 3000m steeplechase at the World University Games today with a time of 8:59.40. Russia's Ilgizar Safiullin won the event with a time of 8:32.53.
This is the first major international championship of Cotter's career after earning Second Team All-American honors in the Steeplechase this June. Next year, Cotter will return to Wichita to finish his degree and run post-collegiately for the Shocker Track Club.
