WICHITA, Kan. - The Wichita State Gold squad held on for a 5-4 win over the Black squad to take a 2-0 lead in the Fall World Series.
Will Baez went 2-for-4 with two RBI for the Gold, while Ryan Jones went 2-for-4. Gold starter Dalton Banwart earned the win going five innings and giving up one run on five hits while striking out one.
Mitch Caster led the Black squad going 3-for-5 with three RBI, a double and a home run. Black starter Brian Flynn took the loss going four innings and giving up two earned runs on five hits while striking out three.
Game three of the series is Tue., Oct. 7 at 7 p.m.
