WICHITA, Kan. – In partnership with Cox and KWCH, Wichita State will televise at least 20 athletics events on Kansas Now 22 and KWCH during the 2007-08 school year, including 11 men’s basketball games, six baseball games, two women’s basketball games and one volleyball match, Director of Athletics Jim Schaus announced today.

"Our partnerships with Cox and KWCH are some of the most important we have,” Director of Athletics Jim Schaus said. “Television exposure for our men’s and women’s athletic programs helps promote Shocker athletics and our entire university. It delivers WSU athletics to our fans throughout the state, which assists in overall exposure, alumni relations, recruiting, university image and revenue generation. We are proud to be associated with such first-class organizations. This is a great day for us!”

The “Shocker Sports Report”, hosted by Mike Kennedy, also returns with 25 weekly Shocker highlight shows at 6:30 and 10:30 p.m. every Thursday starting Nov. 8 on Kansas Now 22 on Cox cable.

Two Wichita State men’s basketball games will be televised on KWCH TV Channel 12 in Wichita, while nine will be televised on Kansas Now 22 on Cox Cable.

Bruce Haertl returns as play-by-play announcer for men’s basketball telecasts on KWCH and Kansas Now 22, with former Shocker player Craig Steven serving as color analyst, while Haertl and Kansas native Jackie Stiles will call the women’s games.
