Budiharto Stays Hot

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. -- Sophomore Lutfiana Budiharto lengthened her hot streak further on Wednesday while her and doubles partner Stephanie Dalmacio ended their tournament run at the Riviera/ITA Women's Tennis All-American Championships.

Budiharto moved her tournament record to 5-1 when she beat Northwestern's #40 Samantha Murray in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2. With the victory, Budiharto now moves on as the only Shocker still alive at the All-American Championships.

She and Dalmacio also took on #21 Taylor Marable and Hilary Bartlett of Princeton on Wednesday. The Shocker duo battled the seventh-seeded Marable and Bartlett but fell just short of the upset, 8-6.

"Steph and Lutfi played a great week of doubles," Head Coach Colin Foster said. "Today's loss was a well-played match, both teams had opportunities and Princeton was able to pull it out. Steph and Lutfi showed this week they are among the elite doubles teams in the nation and I was very pleased with their play, attitude, intensity and sportsmanship all week."

Budiharto now moves forward to the quarterfinals to meet #64 Monica Arguello of Furman on Thursday.
