WICHITA, Kan. - The
Wichita State volleyball team will travel to Norman, Okla., to face Oklahoma in
the first round of the 2010 NCAA Volleyball Tournament. The Shockers (21-7)
will play Oklahoma (21-10) at 7:30 p.m. on Fri., Dec. 3, while No. 13 seed LSU
(25-4) will face Tulsa (30-2) at 5 p.m.
The winner of the 5 p.m. match will play the winner of the 7:30 p.m. match at 2 p.m. on Sat., Dec. 4.
It is the Shockers' fifth-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament and the fourth
at-large berth in school history.
The Shockers traveled to Ames, Iowa, in
the 2009 NCAA Tournament and went 1-1 with a victory over Saint Louis and a
loss to Iowa State. WSU traveled to
Austin, Texas, in the 2008 NCAA Volleyball Tournament and went 1-1 with a
victory over Rice and a loss to Texas. The Shockers traveled to Lincoln,
Neb., in the 2007 and 2004 NCAA Volleyball Tournaments. In 2007, the Shockers
went 1-1 with a win over Western Kentucky and a loss to Nebraska and in 2004,
WSU went 1-1 with a win over Nevada and a loss to Nebraska.
