ST. LOUIS, Mo.- For the second time this season, Lutfiana
Budiharto has been named the Missouri Valley Conference tennis athlete of the
week.
The senior from Jakarta, Indonesia continued her stellar
career, helping the Shockers beat the No. 72 Missouri Tigers, 4-3, on
Saturday, February 11th at the Wichita Country Club. Playing in the
number one slot, she defeated Nina Pantic, 5-7, 6-4, 6-1. She and her doubles
partner, Carla Venticinque, won their doubles match, 8-2, when they defeated
Rachel Stuhlmann and Alex Clark.
Budiharto adds this to her list of accolades, after winning
MVC player of the week three times last year and was also named the MVC player
of the year for 2011.
The Shockers continue their season next weekend when they
travel to West Lafayette, Ind. They take on Purdue on Friday, February 17th
at 1 p.m. and Marshall on Saturday, February 18th at 11 a.m.
