McKown was one of several Wichita State student-athletes who posted an individual win during a windy Saturday.

"The week has been unbelievable for our athletes to battle through these weather conditions with the strain and worry of impending weather," said Steve Rainbolt, WSU's director of track & field. "Today it was unbelievable we were able to compete. Within that context, I felt our team had a nice meet. I continue to be impressed with our team all around. There were season bests in many areas of our track team. It's always great to compete at home against a great field."

Junior Megan Fuller finished second in the women's discus, but set a school record with her throw of 164-9. She broke Kate Schaake's mark of 163-1 set in May 2008.

Sophomore Natalie Morerod picked up two individual wins, finishing first in the women's 100-meter hurdles and also in the 400-meter hurdles. She entered the 400-meter hurdles as WSU's school-record holder in the event. She won Saturday in 1:00.33 and also took first place in the 100-meter hurdles in a wind-aided 13.74.

Senior Dylan Hartnett won the men's 400 meters in 48.24. Senior Audacia Moore took first in the women's 200 meters in 24.45. Junior Courtney Reinke won the women's triple jump in 40-2 ¼.

The Shocker women won the 4x100 in 46.63 -- by one one-hundredth of a second with Moore edging Iowa Central on the anchor leg. Wichita State won the men's 4x400-meter relay in 3:17.21.

Former Shocker Chandra Andrews, who now competes for the Shocker Track Club, won the women's hammer throw in 193-10.

The Shockers next compete at the Kansas Relays starting at noon Thursday, April 19 in Lawrence, Kan. The meet runs through Saturday, April 21.
