OMAHA, Neb.- The Shocker women's tennis team will head to the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Finals after defeating Southern Illinois, 4-0, on Saturday at the Koch Family Tennis Center.

In doubles play, the Shockers and Salukis split the first two matches. Then, Veronika Blaskova and Montse Blasco Fernandez defeated Anita Lee and Anastacia Simons, 8-6, to clinch the point and put WSU up, 1-0.

The Shockers only needed three singles contests to move on to the finals. Delia Damaschin defeated Jennifer Dien, 6-0, 6-1, Veronika Blaskova defeated Natasha Tomishima, 6-2, 6-2, and Carla Venticinque defeated Gisela Cairo Baza, 6-0, 6-2, to give Wichita State the victory.

In the MVC Championship, the Shockers will take on the Redbirds of Illinois State on Sunday at 11 a.m. Wichita State defeated Illinois State, 7-0, on Saturday, April 14^th.
