WICHITA, Kan.- The Wichita State women's tennis team will
head to Austin, Texas to play the University of Texas in the first round of the
NCAA tournament.
The Longhorns (17-7, 7-2) are coming off their win in the
Big 12 Tournament, which is their first since 2005. They defeated Texas
A&M, 4-2, in the Big 12 Tournament finals.
The Shockers (21-5, 7-0) are coming off their fourth
consecutive Missouri Valley Conference title and third straight under head
coach Colin Foster. They defeated Illinois State, 4-1, in the MVC Tournament
Championship on Sunday.
The first round match will be played on Friday, May 11 at Penick-Allison
Tennis Center. The time has yet to be determined.
