WICHITA, Kan.- Head men's tennis coach Brad Louderback
announced the addition of former Arkansas standout Matt Hogan to his coaching
staff today.
The Canberra, Australia native spent four years competing
for the Razorbacks, playing in the number one doubles position and number two
singles position for much of his career. He also spent most of his career in
the ITA rankings in both singles and doubles, reaching the finals of the ITA Indoor
All-American tournament during his sophomore season.
Hogan also spent time on the ATP World Tour, earning a high
ranking of 959.
"Matt has a great attitude with everything he does. He has
enjoyed success on the professional tour and had an outstanding collegiate
career at Arkansas, a program I have much respect for," said Louderback. "He
brings a wealth of things to our program and I can tell he is excited to start
working out the players and is focused on growing as a collegiate coach."
Hogan has a fond memory of Wichita, as it was where he
played his first collegiate match as a freshman at Arkansas.
"We played Wichita State every year I was at Arkansas and it
was always memorable for me," said Hogan. "When I had the opportunity to come
here I thought it was fantastic because I always had a good experience with the
tennis program at Wichita State."
Louderback remembers Hogan as a Razorback and is excited to
have him join his coaching staff.
"Matt has that tenacity when he plays and also shows
confidence and common sense that makes me believe he has all of the qualities to
become an outstanding coach," he said. "I know the team is excited to have Matt a part of our
program."
Hogan graduated from Arkansas in 2012 with a degree in
communications and has spent a lot of time coaching junior tennis players in
Australia.
