WICHITA - The Wichita State University men's golf team added
Chandler Rusk, a transfer from Texas Tech, to the 2012-13 roster.
Rusk competed in two seasons for the Red Raiders,
culminating in a tie for fourth place at the Big 12 Championships as a
sophomore in 2011. He is a native of
Edmond, Okla. where he starred for Edmond North High School. His prep career included a tie for first at
the 2009 Oklahoma Class 6A Tournament.
As a sophomore, Rusk finished fourth on the team with a 74.5
stroke average over the spring and fall seasons. That spring he placed 10th and
helped lead Texas Tech to a team victory at the UTSA/Oak Hills Invitational. The Shockers competed in that same
tournament, tying for 7th.
Rusk had an accomplished career at Edmond North High School,
posting six Top-10 finishes in AJGA play.
He won five tournaments his senior season and posted a 70.1 career scoring
average.
He will have two years of eligibility and can compete
immediately in the fall for the Shockers.
Wichita State has won five consecutive Missouri Valley
Conference titles and has participated in 19 NCAA Tournaments.
