WICHITA, Kan. -
The annual Wichita State baseball Fall World Series will begin on Sat., Sept.
29, at Eck Stadium. The series will last
until Sat., Oct. 13.
The Shocker roster will be divided into two teams, the Black
and the Gold. One will be coached by
21st-year assistant coach Jim Thomas and the other by third-year volunteer
assistant Brandon Hall. The rosters will
be announced at a later date.
The Gold squad won the 2011 Fall World Series in five games.
Kevin Hall led the Gold squad with a .524 average with six
runs, three doubles, and four RBI, while Kris Gardner pitched 11 innings with a
0.82 ERA.
Josh Halbert led the Black squad with a .500 average with
three runs, one double and eight walks, while A.J. Ladwig pitched 11.2 innings
with a 3.09 ERA.
Admission to each game of the Fall World Series is a can of
food for the Kansas Food Bank.
The Shockers start fall practice on Mon., Sept. 3.
