WICHITA, Kan.- The Wichita State women's golf team will head
to Columbia, Mo. to participate in the Johnnie Imes Invitational, Oct. 1-2 at
Old Hawthorne Golf Course.
The Shockers are coming off a couple strong individual
performances, as senior Hannah Martin and Natalie Samb both tied for 11th
last week at the Marilynn Smith Invitational in Lawrence, Kan. They both were
able to shoot an 18-over 234 for the tournament.
As a team, the Shocker women will be looking to improve from
tenth place finishes in each of their first two tournaments.
Old Hawthorne Golf Course is a 6,234-yard, par-72 course located
on Route WW. The other schools joining Wichita State in the tournament are
Redlands Community College, Oklahoma City University, Montana, Missouri State, Indiana,
Florida International, Kansas State, Colorado State, Louisville, UALR, Mississippi
State, Southern Methodist, UMKC, Bradley, Illinois State, Eastern Michigan and Iowa.
