WICHITA, Kan.- The Wichita State women's golf team helped
sort through donations of food and clothing this past weekend at Wichita's
Carpenter Place.
The Shocker women also toured the newest program home and were
able to meet some of the girls living in the home. Carpenter Place is a
privately funded, non-profit entity that helps girls in crisis. There are 14
girls, ages 6 through 18, which live in the two homes. The idea of the
residences is to create a family, home environment.
Their goals have recently expanded to include the family of
the child and counseling, so that the family may be successfully reunited.
