WICHITA, Kan. - The Wichita State softball team will host Butler County in an evening
doubleheader tonight at Wilkins Stadium beginning at 5 p.m.
Wichita State comes into the
game having split their opening four games of the fall season. This past
weekend the Shockers defeated Cowley County, 10-4, before being edged by
Western Oklahoma State, 7-2, on a cold and windy day at Wilkins Stadium.
Highlights from the weekend
included Shocker senior Danika Miller belting two home runs in the victory over
Cowley County as well as a strong four innings of work in the pitching circle
for senior Katie Armagost.
Butler County will pose a
considerable challenge with many players receiving recruiting interest from
Division-I programs. Sophomores Mac and Alex Millspaugh have already signed
with MVC rival Creighton for the 2013-14 season.
Following the doubleheader
against Butler County, the Shockers will embark on their first and only set of
road games of the fall season Sat., Oct. 13 in Stillwater, Okla. where they
will face off with Tulsa and Oklahoma State at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.
