WICHITA, Kan. - Members of the WSU cross country,
volleyball, and women's tennis teams helped stock the Food 4 Kids backpack
program at the Kansas Food Bank Tuesday morning.
Food 4 Kids is
a program for students who do not get the sufficient amount of food outside of
school on a regular basis. It allows for participating schools to receive food
and backpacks from the Kansas Food Bank at no cost so that they can provide
food to chronically hungry children.
This is one of
the many community service events coming up for WSU athletes. On Oct. 26, the
women's basketball team will visit Pleasant Valley Elementary to read to the
students
