WICHITA, Kan. -- Wichita State forward Jake White will transfer at the end of the semester, Head Coach Gregg Marshall announced today.
White, a 6-foot-8 sophomore from Chaska, Minn., averaged 3.6 points and 2.9 rebounds while shooting 47 percent (51-109) from the field and averaging 10.9 minutes in 37 games.
"We wish him nothing but the best in his pursuit of a situation where he is more of a focal point," Marshall said. "Jake's been a part of a Missouri Valley Conference championship, part of a Final Four team. He's been a great representative."
As a freshman, White played in 21 games and averaged 2.0 points and 2.2 rebounds.
Marshall said coaches are helping him find a school.
“He's got some cachet now,” Marshall said. “His resume is pretty strong. He wants to be the guy taking the shots, and I respect that.”
