WICHITA – Fresh off his medalist performance at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship, Wichita State University senior Rafael Becker landed on the MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team. 

The native of Sao Paulo, Brazil earned scholar-athlete recognition for the third time in his Shocker career.  Becker carries a 3.40 GPA in International Business. 

Becker won two tournaments this year to add to two wins as a junior.  He has 13 career top-10 finishes at WSU and owns a lifetime 73.13 stroke average.  The Missouri Valley Conference has honored him as the league's Golfer of the Week eight times, which ranks sixth in Valley history.  He was the 2012 MVC Golfer of the Year.

The Shockers participate in the school's sixth-straight NCAA Regional beginning Thursday morning at Louisiana State.  The top five schools out of the 13-team regional advance to the NCAA Championship.
