WGolf: Shockers Announce Signing of Torgerson

WICHITA, Kan.- The Wichita State women’s golf team received a National Letter of Intent from Buhler, Kan. native Taryn Torgerson this week, head coach Tom McCurdy announced.

Torgerson led the Buhler High School girl's golf team to the 2011 and 2012 Kansas Class 4A State Championships, while winning the individual title at the 2013 state championship. She also finished 33rd at the 2013 Optimist International Junior Golf Championship and won the 2013 Woody Austin Midwest Junior Golf Invitational.

"I'm very excited to announce Taryn's signing with Wichita State,” McCurdy said. “She is long off the tee and a very competitive player. With her positive attitude, she will be a great addition to our program!”

The Shocker women will begin their spring season with the Red Rocks Invitational, Mar. 1-2 in Village of Oak Creek, Ariz.
