SATURDAY'S RESULTS
EUGENE, Ore. -- Audacia Moore provided plenty of fireworks with an impressive fifth place finish in the junior women's 200m final at the 2009 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at historic Hayward Field.
Audacia Moore made a second consective final and provided plenty of excitement by finishing fifth in the junior women's 200 with a time of 23.97. Moore placed eighth in the junior women's 100 final on Friday before coming back with a spectacular effort on Saturday.
Todd McKown wrapped up the championships with a time of 54.25 in the junior men's 400m hurdles prelims, good for 12th and just off the qualifying speed of 53.63.
FRIDAY'S RESULTS
EUGENE, Ore. -- It was a day of near misses as a handful of members of the Shocker track and field program wrapped up participation in the U.S. Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday.
WSU throws coach John Hetzendorf finished 10th in the men's javelin, narrowly missing ninth by just a few inches with a throw of 225-07.
Distance runner Kellyn Johnson failed to advance out of the prelims in the women's 1,500m, finishing 13th with a time of 4:16.71, one spot out of qualifying for the next round.
Audacia Moore finished seventh in the preliminary round of the junior women's 100m with an 11.65 second run that launched her into the finals where she ran 11.70 and finished eighth.
Justin Hickey finished 11th in the junior men's decathlon, finishing with 6,196 points. Hickey finished fifth in the 100m portion, finishing in 11.48 seconds.
Todd McKown finished 16th in the prelims of the junior men's 110m hurdles, finishing in 14.42, less than half a second off the qualifying pace. He wraps up action on Saturday afternoon in the junior men's 400m hurdles.
