LUBBOCK, Texas ? The College Baseball Foundation announced a change to the 2009 Hall of Fame
Induction Class. Darren Dreifort's induction now will be deferred until July 2010.

Dreifort will be unable to attend the 2009 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony due to recent hip surgery.

“I was hoping that I would have improved enough at this point to make the trip, but that is not the case,”
Dreifort said. “I just can't see that travel would do anything but worsen my condition.”

Although Dreifort will be a part of the 2010 ceremonies, he officially will be considered part of the 2009
Hall of Fame Class.

“Of course we are disappointed that Darren won't be here for this year, but we understand his circum-
stances and we can't wait to meet him and have him in town for next year,” said Mike Gustafson, execu-
tive director of the College Baseball Foundation and co-chair of the National College Baseball Hall of
Fame.

The 2009 College Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. Friday at the
Lubbock Memorial Civic Center, 1501 Mac Davis Lane.
