In an annual ceremony of remembrance, a wreath will be placed at Wichita State's Memorial '70 at 9 a.m., Tuesday morning, marking the 42nd anniversary of the plane crash that killed 31 WSU football players, administrators and supporters October 2, 1970.
The plane crashed near Silver Plume, Colorado en route to a game with Utah State University in Logan, Utah. The Memorial '70 sculpture is located on Alumni Drive near 18th and Hillside.
This time of remembrance is to acknowledge the changes that the plane crash made in the lives of the victims, their families, their friends and the University.
A reception will follow in the lobby of Miller Concert Hall.
