WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State alums Chandra Andrews, Kellyn Johnson, and Trent Mazanec competed at the 2012 U.S. Team Trials in Eugene, Ore. over the past weekend.

Andrews placed 15th in the women's hammer throw with a mark of 63.02 meters. The 15th place finish was an improvement of nine places for Andrews, who finished 24th back in 2008. The winning throw in this year's event of 71.8 meters came from Amber Campbell.

Johnson finished tenth in the women's 10,000 meters with a time of 32:30.40.  Amy Hastings posted a winning time of 31:58.36. Johnson will also compete in the 5,000 meter prelims on Monday, June 25.

Mazanec finished 13th in the men's javelin with a mark of 71.61 meters. Timothy Glover had the winning throw of 80.27 meters.

In addition to Johnson competing in the 5,000 meters on Monday, current Shocker hurdlers Todd McKown and Lawson Montgomery will compete in the 110-meter hurdles beginning Friday, June 29.
