Ft. Collins, Colo. -- Hunter Sparks is tied for fourth and the WSU men's golf team is five strokes back of Nevada at the Ram Masters Invitational. The final round takes place Tuesday.
Four Shockers rest in the top 20 and the team registered an 11-over 571 after two rounds. Sparks chalked up a one-under par 69 in the opening round and followed with a 73 to sit at 2-over, five strokes back of the leader, Nevada's Zak Griffiths.
Rafael Becker bounced back from a first round 76 to card a second round 68 and pull into a tie for 12th. He was the co-medalist at last week's Diet Pepsi Shocker Classic. Tyler Gann and Calvin Pearson each shot a five-over 145 to tie for 19th. Chandler Rusk is also in the mix at six-over and tied for 24th.
Drake (11th), Illinois State (14th) and Northern Iowa (15th) are also competing in the 15-team field. The Ram Masters Invitiational wraps up today.
