WICHITA, Kan. - The Wichita State Black team scored a run in the top of the ninth to defeat the Gold 2-1 in game three of the Fall World Series. With the win, the Black now leads the series 2-1.
Johnny Coy went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Black, while Mikel Mucha went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Reliever TJ McGreevy earned the win. He pitched one shutout inning with three strikeouts.
Chase Simpson went 1-for-3 with an RBI for the Gold, while reliever Brandon Peterson took the loss.
Game four of the series is Sun., Oct. 7 at 6:30 p.m.
