WICHITA - The Wichita State men's golf team signed Grant Bennett of Prosper (Texas) High School, head coach Grier Jones announced today.

Bennett is the No. 9 ranked player in Texas and No. 122 overall by Junior Golf Scoreboard.  He led Prosper High School to the Texas state championship in 2011 and earned all-region and all-district first team honors. 

As a senior, Bennett earned a nine-stroke victory at the TJGT Galleria Open and also owns tournament wins at the Southwest Junior Open (as a freshman) and the Texas Legend's Winter Classic (as a junior). 

Grant is the son of Drake and Gwen Bennett and played for coach Keith Kirkland at Prosper HS.
