WICHITA, Kan.- The Wichita State women's tennis team will start the 2013 team season ranked nationally, coming in at No. 62 in the first ITA rankings released today. The Shockers ended the 2012 season also ranked No. 62.
Freshman Rebecca Pedrazzi was ranked No. 20 in the ITA Central Region singles rankings that were also released on Thursday. She had a very successful fall in her first season as a Shocker, compiling a 7-3 singles record and also capturing the Missouri Valley Conference Individual Championship at the No. 4 position.
The doubles team of Veronika Blaskova and Lucia Kovalova will come into the season ranked No. 9 in the central region. The duo compiled a record of 8-2 during the fall.
The Shockers will begin their team season on Wednesday, January 16 when they travel to Tulsa, Okla. for a match against Oral Roberts.
