LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Shockers finish their Arkansas trip at 4-1 after a 5-3 win over Iowa.
Cody Bobbit finished 3-for-5, while Tyler Baker and Micah Green each had two hits. Johnny Coy finished with two RBI. Reliever TJ McGreevy earned the win. He went four shutout innings with four strikeouts, while Brandon Peterson picked up his second save with a scoreless ninth.
Iowa jumped on the board in the first inning. Drew Palmer hit the first two batters of the game and they both scored on a two-out single from Keith Brand for a 2-0 lead.
Tyler Baker led off the second inning with a single up the middle, moved to second on a throwing error by the pitcher on a pickoff attempt and went to third on a passed ball. Baker scored on a sacrifice fly to right field by Erik Harbutz to cut the lead to 2-1.
The Hawkeyes answered in the bottom of the second with another run to go in front 3-1, but the Shockers put together a big inning in the third. Mikel Mucha and Cody Bobbit led off with singles and advanced on a sac bunt from Garrett Bayliff. After an intentional walk to Casey Gillaspie, Johnny Coy just missed a grand slam with a two-run double off the top of the wall in left-center. Gillaspie was thrown out at the plate, but the two runs tied the game at three. Baker then doubled down the right field line to drive in Coy for a 4-3 lead.
An Iowa error led to another Shocker run in the fifth for a 5-3 lead
