WICHITA, Kan. —Kenny Manigault and Jerome Hamilton have signed National Letters of Intent to play men’s basketball at Wichita State, Head Coach Gregg Marshall announced today.

Hamilton, a 6-foot-7, 215-pound forward from Worth County High School in Sylvester, Ga., and Manigault, a 6-foot-4, 185-pound guard from Charleston, S.C., who plays at Pinewood Prep High School in Summerville, S.C., wrap up WSU’s fall class of signees.

“We are proud both Kenny and Jerome decided to head West and join the Shocker family,” Marshall said. “Both of them are great individuals and come from great families and backgrounds. These two quality young men are also tremendously athletic. Coach Grant has known them and followed them from our days at Winthrop. They are tremendous additions to a very young squad.”

Hamilton averaged 17 points and nine rebounds as a junior at Worth County High for coach Andy Harden a year ago.

“Jerome is a rugged rebounder and runner,” Marshall said. “He gets out in transition and is strong. He’s also a ball-getter in the mold of Ramon Clemente, and is a tremendous athlete that likes to dunk it.”

Manigault averaged 12.0 points and seven assists for Pinewood High School Panthers a year ago. The Panthers captured their third-straight SCISA Class AAA state championship. He was a third-team All-Lowcountry selection after almost averaging a triple-double for the season for Coach Pat Eidson.

“Kenny is a strong, physical and athletic point guard that is pass-first,” Marshall said. “He will be a great compliment to our guard combinations for next year, and comes from a highly successful program at Pinewood Prep HS. He has great reach and jumping ability and can touch the top of the square on the backboard.”

In addition, Manigault was chosen by Rivals.com as the top prospect signed in the Missouri Valley Conference today.
