Gold Takes Series With 8-4 Win

WICHITA, Kan. - The Wichita State Gold squad won the Shocker Fall World Series with an 8-4 win in game five.

Casey Gillaspie went 2-for-5 with three RBI and a home run for the Gold, while Tyler Coughenour went 3-for-5 with an RBI.

Gold starter Kyle Vail earned the win.  He threw four shutout innings with three strikeouts.

Josh Halbert led the Black going 3-for-4 with a double.

Black starter Albert Minnis took the loss.  He went two innings and gave up one earned run on eight hits.

Game six of the series will still take place at 7 p.m. on Tue., Oct. 11 with game seven at 3 p.m. on Fri., Oct. 14.
