WICHITA, Kan.- The Wichita State women's tennis team will travel to Lawrence, Kan. to compete in the Kansas Invitational, Sept. 21-23.
After only traveling half the team to the Drake Invitational last weekend, the Shockers will compete everyone this weekend. They will take on opponents from Kansas, Kansas State, UMKC, South Dakota, Arkansas State, Arkansas-Little Rock, Texas-Arlington and Abilene Christian.
"All the girls will have good opportunities to get some wins and build some confidence," said head coach Colin Foster.
Freshman Rebecca Pedrazzi and junior Montse Blasco Fernandez will look to continue their success from the Drake Invitational last weekend, where they both reached the singles finals in the top two flights of the tournament. As a team, they also reached the flight 'A' doubles final. Freshmen Summer Schlotterback and Masa Smic also had their season debuts last weekend.
Juniors Veronika Blaskova, Satjaporn Mahajaroenkul, Carla Venticinque, and sophomore Lucia Kovalova will be added to the Shocker lineup this weekend.
Results and updates will be posted on GoShockers.com at the conclusion of each day's competition.
