WICHITA, Kan. - The Wichita State Gold squad used a two-run double from Chase Simpson in the eighth inning to defeat the Black squad 9-7 in game four of the Fall World Series. The series is now tied at two games each.
Casey Gillaspie went 3-for-3 with two RBI, a double and a triple, while Simpson went 1-for-3 with four RBI.
Reliever Foster Vielock earned the win as he pitched 1.2 shutout inning with two strikeouts. Albert Minnis pitched 1.2 shutout innings for the save.
Tanner Dearman and Dayne Parker each had two hits for the Black, while Bob Arens drove in two and hit a home run.
Reliever TJ McGreevy took the loss as he gave up two unearned runs.
Game five of the series is Tue., Oct. 9 at 3 p.m.
