WICHITA, Kan. - Senior Carl Hall was named the WSU Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 12, 2012.
Senior forward Carl Hall had 17 points and 13 rebounds in Wichita State's home-opening win Saturday night against North Carolina Central. He shot 4-of-10 form the field and 9-of-11 from the line. He also had an assist and a career-high three blocks.
Holiday Road... Wichita State takes to the road Tuesday to begin a furious two weeks where it plays five games in 10 days, including the last two which are in Cancun, Mexico. Including the Tulsa game Nov. 28, WSU will already have seven regular-season games under its belt before Dec. 1, which is the most November games in school history.
Regular Foe... Tuesday's game at VCU will match recent familiar foes as the two have met each of the last two seasons with VCU winning by a total of four points. WSU's only player to play in both games is Demetric Williams who had 17 minutes and five points in the first meeting, and 14 minutes and no points in the second meeting. Only five Shockers returning played in last year's game, led by Carl Hall's 32 minutes. The next-most minutes came from current sophomore Tekele Cotton, who had seven minutes.
20/20/20/?... Wichita State has won more than 20 games the last three seasons, and is on a quest to make it a school record fourth-straight season. In 2012-13, Wichita State returns only 22.7-of-77.1 points and 42-of-165 starts a game from a year ago with seniors Carl Hall and Demetric Williams, as well as Tekele Cotton, Jake White, Evan Wessel and Ehimen Orukpe.
