WICHITA, Kan.- Rebecca Pedrazzi was named the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the week today.

Pedrazzi, a freshman from Modena, Italy, is ranked No. 20 in singles play in the ITA Central Region. She has a singles record of 10-5 this season, including 3-2 in dual matches. Since the start of the team season she has defeated Tori Dollar of Oral Roberts, 6-0, 6-0, Whitney Wofford of No. 44 Oklahoma, 6-2, 2-6, 7-5, and this week, she beat Julia Lorca of No. 69 Stephen F. Austin, 6-4, 6-1.

In doubles play, she is 8-6 on the season including 2-2 in dual matches. Also during this week of play, she and her partner, Carla Venticinque, defeated Elizabeth Begley and Aeriel Ellis of No. 11 Texas, 8-4, on Saturday. 

Pedrazzi and the rest of the Shocker women will continue their season on Thursday, January 31 when they travel to Tulsa, Okla. for a match against Tulsa at 4 p.m.
