WICHITA, Kan.- The Wichita State men’s tennis team moved their record to 11-6 on the season, defeating UMKC 5-0 on Monday at Genesis Health Club.

In doubles play, Ilija Cuic and Erick Reyes were first off the courts, defeating David Heckler and Abdul Alawadhi, 8-1. Matheus Pereira and Tin Ostojic clinched the point for the Shockers by taking down Grant Fleming and Tomas Patino, 8-5.

Pereira clinched the match for Wichita State at the No. 1 singles position, defeating Nino Hasandedic, 6-2, 6-3. Tomislav Gregurovic, Guillermo Nicol and Erick Reyes also grabbed victories in singles play.

The Shocker men will now begin Missouri Valley Conference play when they take on Creighton on Friday, April 5 at the Sheldon Coleman Tennis Complex. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
