WICHITA, Kan.- The Wichita State women’s tennis team defeated Bradley, 4-0 on Friday morning at Crestview Country Club to move into the semifinals of the Missouri Valley Conference Championship.
The Shockers grabbed the doubles point when Satjaporn Mahajaroenkul and Montse Blasco Fernandez defeated Elizabeth Przystawski and Meredith McDonagh, 8-0, and Lucia Kovalova and Julia Schiller defeated Carly Miles and Kennedy Scott, 8-1.
In singles play, Wichita State only needed the top three singles flights to finish off the Braves. Rebecca Pedrazzi took down Adele Henke, 6-0, 6-3, Julia Schiller defeated Sarah Rodefeld 6-0, 6-1 and Lucia Kovalova put away Carly Miles, 6-1, 6-2.
The Shocker women will now face Illinois State in the semifinals on Saturday and Crestview Country Club for a chance to get into the MVC finals. First serve is set for 10 a.m. and stats can be followed on the tournament central on GoShockers.com.
