WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State baseball student-athlete Garrett Bayliff has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Player-of-the-Week for the week of May 13-19.
Bayliff, a junior outfielder from Tuttle, Okla., led the Shockers to a 3-1 week and went 11-for-15 (.733) with four RBI, a walk and three stolen bases. He had multiple hits in all four games.
Against No. 16 Oklahoma State, he went 3-for-3 with an RBI, a walk and a stolen base. In game one against Northwestern, he went 4-for-5 with three RBI and a stolen base. The four hits was a career-high for him. In game two against the Wildcats, he went 2-for-3 with a sacrifice bunt and in game three, he went 2-for-4 with a stolen base. He is now hitting a team-best .381 going into the MVC Tournament.
Bayliff and the Shockers play Southern Illinois on Tue., May 21 at 12:30 p.m. in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.
