Cleveland, OHIO -- The Wichita State Athletics Marketing Department has been nominated as a finalist for the NACMA Marketing Team of the Year. NACMA, the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators, is a professional organization established by intercollegiate marketing administrators to promote the exchange of current trends in intercollegiate marketing. Wichita State joins finalists Kansas State and last year’s winner, Iowa State, in this prestigious honor. The winner will be announced during the 22nd Annual NACMA Convention on June 14th in Orlando, Florida.
"As the Marketing Team of the Year Award continues to gain momentum in only its second year as the top award in collegiate sports marketing, we could not be more excited or impressed by the quality of nominations, particularly from our three finalists who stood out from the rest of the nominees," said NACMA President Greg Herring, assistant athletic director for marketing and sales at Northern Illinois University. "All of our submissions showcased the amount of creativity, dedication, effort and teamwork required to be a successful department within collegiate marketing, which is certainly something to be proud of and celebrated."
The Marketing Team of the Year Award was created by NACMA to show the significant impact a marketing team has not only on the athletics department, but the campus and surrounding community as well. Wichita State’s nomination is centered around the #WATCHUS campaign, which exemplifies the integration between Wichita State Athletics and the community.
