Former Wichita State University women’s basketball standout Haleigh Lankster has signed a professional contract with Buducnost in Montenegro. She will join the team in August, in time for preseason games.
“It’s great to see Haleigh’s dream come true after a years wait and awesome to have a Shocker tie in helping her make this dream come true,” Adams said. “I have always thought her best years would be as a pro as her IQ of the game matured and skill set developed. She was an unbelievable athlete for us. We wish her well and are so very proud of her.”
Lankster was a two-time all-MVC performer for the Shockers and was named the league’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2011-12. She finished her career ninth on the WSU all-time scoring list with 1,366 points and second in career steals (252).
