WICHITA -- The third annual "Color Me Pink" event will take place on Thurs., Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. on the floor of Charles Koch Arena and will feature keynote speaker Holly Warlick, women’s basketball head coach at Tennessee, local celebrity Bonnie Bing-Honeyman, and Wichita State women’s basketball head coach Jody Adams. All proceeds support breast cancer research.
Admission to the dinner is $50 and includes a voucher for two tickets to any Shocker women’s basketball game. Full tables (10 people) are available for $500 and include a private reception from 5-6 p.m.
Warlick is in her second season as head coach at Tennessee, after serving on Pat Summit’s staff for 27 years as an assistant. In her first year as head coach, Warlick led the Lady Vols to the program’s 17th SEC title and reached the Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament.
In 2007, Warlick and LSU head coach (and former “Color Me Pink” speaker) Nikki Caldwell founded the Champions for a Cause Foundation, a long haul motorcycle ride dedicated to raising funds and awareness for a cure for breast cancer. Wichita State head coach Jody Adams has participated in the ride for each of the last three years. The organization has raised and donated more than $150,000.
Bonnie Bing-Honeyman is a long-time active supporter of WSU women’s basketball. The highly regarded columnist at The Wichita Eagle – and WSU alum – has a long history of supporting charitable causes and is an annual showstopper for her role in the Gridiron stage show.
