WICHITA, Kan.- The Wichita State women’s golf team will head to Boonville, Ind. to compete in the Charles Braun Jr. Intercollegiate on Oct. 28-29 at Quail Crossing Golf Course.
The Shockers are coming off a second place finish in the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial two weeks ago. As a team, Wichita State shot a 905 (297-298-310), their second-best team score this season. Meghan Schuetz finished in second place individually, breaking the Wichita State 54-hole record with a 216 (72-73-71). The Bloomington, Ill. native topped Gretchen Huhnerkoch (UALR Women’s Golf Classic, 2011-12) and Maria Borjesson’s (Northwest Invitational, 1995-96) scores of 217 to put her atop the Shocker record book.
Wichita State will face teams from Butler, Dayton, Evansville, Indiana State, IUPI, Lipscomb, Loyola Chicago, Northern Iowa, Northern Kentucky, SIU Edwardsville, Southern Indiana, Tennessee State and Valparaiso.
Quail Crossing is a par-71 course. The teams will tee off on Monday with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Tuesday will also be a 10 a.m. shotgun start.
