WGolf: Shocks in Tie for Second After First Round

BOONVILLE, Ind.- The Wichita State women’s golf team sits in a tie for second place after carding a 298 in the first round of the Charles Braun Jr. Intercollegiate on Monday at Quail Crossing Golf Course.

The Shockers are only three shots back of tournament leader Lipscomb, who shot a 295 through the first 18-holes.

Junior Alejandra Arellano carded her lowest round of the season with a 72 that put her in a tie for third. Meghan Schuetz and Alejandra Villalobos each shot a 75 and are in a tie for 17th. Sami Stewart is in a tie for 25th with a 76 and Daniela Rugeles is in a tie for 39th with a 78. As an individual, Madison Murphy carded an 80 and is in a tie for 51st.

The final 18-holes will start on Tuesday with a shotgun start at 10 a.m.
