Scouting Indiana State
Indiana State is 11-13 overall and 4-8 in the Missouri Valley Conference. Wins this season have come against SIUE, Chicago State twice, Georgetown, NC Central, Robert Morris, Evansville, Drake, Saint Louis, Illinois State and Loyola. Losses have come against Akron, Campbell, IUPUI, Murray State, Wright State, Southern Illinois, Illinois State, Bradley twice, Loyola, Missouri State, Wichita State and UNI. As a team, the Sycamores are hitting .202, while holding opponents to a .209 clip. INS is led offensively by Morgan Dall who averages 4.38 kills per set, while Loni Mackinson averages 9.83 assists per set and Molly Murphy averages 4.93 digs per set. The Sycamores are led by sixth-year head coach Traci Dahl.

Wichita State leads the overall series with the Sycamores 41-12. WSU also leads the series in Wichita 22-3. WSU head coach Chris Lamb is 24-4 overall against the Sycamores and 12-1 in Wichita. The Shockers have won 23 in a row against INS.

The last meeting between the two teams was Oct. 12, 2013, in Terre Haute, Ind. The Shockers won 3-0 by scores of 25-22, 25-16 and 25-22. Ashley Andrade led the Shockers with 15 kills, while Chelsey Feekin had 35 assists and Dani Mostrom had 14 digs.

Illinois State is 16-8 overall and 9-3 in the Missouri Valley Conference. Wins this season have come against IUPUI, Florida Gulf Coast, Grand Canyon, Nevada, Weber State, UC Davis, IPFW, Evansville, Southern Illinois, Indiana State, Loyola, Bradley twice, Wichita State, Missouri State and Drake. Losses have come against VCU, Butler, Michigan State,, Marquette, UNI, Valpo, Indiana State and Loyola. As a team, the Redbirds are hitting .213, while holding opponents to a .141 clip. ILS is led offensively by Ashley Rosch who averages 3.04 kills per set, while Kaitlyn Early averages 10.5 assists per set and Emily Orrick averages 4.97 digs per set. The Redbirds are led by sixth-year head coach Melissa Myers.

Last Meeting vs. ILS
The last meeting between the two teams was Oct. 11, 2013, in Normal, Ill. The Redbirds won 3-1 by scores of 25-14, 13-25, 25-18 and 25-18. Ashlyn Driskill led the Shockers with 12 kills, while Chelsey Feekin had 32 assists and 15 digs.
Lamb Reaches 300 Victories
Wichita State head coach Chris Lamb earned his 300th career victory on Oct. 5 against Evansville. He is the winningest volleyball coach in school history and now has a record of 306-128 for a winning percentage of .705.
Wichita State is 55th in the fifth NCAA RPI update of the season, while Indiana State is 249 and Illinois State is 81. WSU is 8-5 against the top-100 with wins over VCU (52), Louisville (50), Missouri State (72), South Dakota (99), UNI (60), Utah State (64), ETSU (83) and Fresno State (88) and losses to Hawaii (16), Creighton (9), Arizona State (51), UNI (60) and Illinois State (81).
Shocks Ranked in Attendance
Wichita State is ranked 14th in average attendance this week. The Shockers are averaging 2,593 fans per match, while national leader Nebraska averages 8,163.
Shocks in the NCAA Stats
The Shocks are ranked in the top-50 in several statistical categories. WSU is 47th in blocks per set, 13th in hitting percentage and 32nd in match win-loss percentage. Individually, Ashley Andrade is fourth in hitting percentage and 36th in blocks per set.
Feekin Second in Hitting Percentage
Senior setter Chelsey Feekin had an impressive offensive weekend for the Shockers. On Friday at Evansville, she had nine kills with no errors on 10 swings for a .900 hitting percentage. That mark ranks second in the Shocker record books for hitting percentage in a match. The record is .917 held by Janelle Watton who had 11 kills on 12 swings with no errors against Tulsa on Nov. 16, 1991.
Andrade’s Dominance Continues
Senior middle blocker Ashley Andrade continued her offensive exploits over the weekend. On Friday at Evansville, she had seven kills with one error on 15 swings and hit .400 and also added two blocks. At Southern Illinois on Saturday, she had a team-high 17 kills with just one error on 29 swings and hit .552 and also added a dig and six blocks. She has hit under .400 just one time in Valley play this season and that was against Evansville on Oct. 5 when she hit .292.
Wichita State will honor its four seniors on Sat., Nov. 9 against Illinois State. The senior class of Ashley Andrade, Chelsey Feekin, Elizabeth Field and Sam Sanders has led the Shockers to an 87-35 record in their four years along with three NCAA Tournament appearances and one Sweet 16. Andrade has 841 kills and 393 blocks in her career and has hit .371, while Feekin has 419 kills, 2,418 assists, 624 digs and 159 blocks and has hit .438. Field has 860 kills and 346 blocks and hit .316, while Sanders has 691 kills, 210 digs and 206 blocks and hit .212.
20 Wins Again
Wichita State earned its 20th win of the season on Oct. 25 against Drake. It is the 11th-straight season that the Shockers have reached 20 wins, which is a school record. WSU is 21-6 this season.
Senior setter Chelsey Feekin continues to have an impressive senior season. She is averaging 10.51 assists, 1.53 kills, 2.48 digs and 0.78 blocks per set and hitting .452. She has improved those numbers in Valley play by averaging 10.98 assists, 1.91 kills, 2.95 digs and 0.70 blocks per set, while hitting .567.
