PEORIA, Ill. – Wichita State won its 25th match of the season with a 3-1 win at Bradley. The Shockers won by scores of 22-25, 25-11, 25-19 and 25-17.
Ashley Andrade led the Shockers with 16 kills and hit eight blocks and hit .600, while Chelsey Feekin had 44 assists and 10 digs. Dani Mostrom had a career-high 30 digs.
The Shockers jumped out to a quick 5-1 lead in the first set and increased it to 9-3 after a Bradley hitting error. The Braves answered with a 5-0 run to pull within 9-8 and then tied it at 11. Back-to-back BU service aces put the Braves in front 13-11 and a block increased their lead to 20-15. A block by Katie Reilly and Elizabeth Field cut the lead to 20-18, but the Braves won the set 25-22.
Three kills from Sam Sanders and two from Reilly helped the Shockers to a 7-0 lead in the second set. Another Sanders kill increased the lead to 19-8 and WSU won the set 25-11 on a kill from Ashlyn Driskill.
The third set went back-and-forth until two-straight Bradley hitting errors gave WSU a 14-11 lead. A service ace from Feekin increased the lead to 19-14 and a Reilly kill made it 22-14. WSU went on to win the set 25-19 on a kill from Driskill.
BU led 5-4 in the fourth set, but the Shockers used a 4-0 run to go in front 7-5. A 7-0 Shocker run increased the lead to 14-7 and WSU won the set 25-17.
The Shockers are next in action on Fri., Nov. 22 at Missouri State at 7 p.m.
