STILLWATER, Okla. – Garrett Bayliff went 4-for-5 to lead Wichita State to a 6-4 win over No. 15 Oklahoma State. With the win, Shocker head coach Todd Butler earned his 100th career victory as a head coach.

Starter Kris Gardner went three innings and gave up two runs on two hits with three strikeouts. Foster Vielock earned his fourth save of the season.

Cody Bobbit reached first on a passed ball to lead off the game and advanced to third on a single to right-center from Garrett Bayliff. After a walk to Casey Gillaspie loaded the bases, Chase Simpson singled to right field to score Bobbit for a 1-0 lead. Micah Green then followed with a sacrifice fly to give the Shocks a 2-0 lead.

The Shockers added four more runs in the third. Bayliff led off with a single to centerfield and Gillaspie walked. Simpson followed with a single to left field to load the bases and with one out Tyler Baker grounded out to second base to score Bayliff. Tanner Kirk followed with a single up the middle to score Gillaspie and Simpson for a 5-0 lead. Dayne Parker singled to right field and after a Cowboy error, Kirk came around to score for a 6-0 lead.

The Cowboys answered with a couple of runs in the bottom of the third. Gage Green led off with a single and Tim Arakawa walked with two outs. Green stole second and third and scored on a wild pitch. Arakawa scored on a single from Donnie Walton to cut the lead to 6-2.

OSU added another run in the fourth. Tanner Krietemeier singled through the right side with one out and moved to third on a single from Green. Krietemeier scored on a sacrifice bunt from Craig McConaughy to cut the lead to 6-3.

The Cowboys added an unearned run in the ninth for the final score of 6-4.

The Shockers are next in action on Fri., March 14 at UC Santa Barbara at 5 p.m. Central time.
