Wichita
State University Athletic Department, a NCAA Division I member of the
Missouri Valley Conference and sponsor of 15 varsity sports, is seeking
applications and nominations for the position of Director of
Facilities.
This
position is full-time with full benefits and is responsible for the day
to day operations of Athletic Facilities and will be responsible for
practice and event set-up/tear down and change. Supervises graduate
assistants and interns in the facility department. Coordinates and
works closely with the Wichita State Physical Plant to complete
maintenance and repair work for these facilities and is the liaison
between athletics and the Physical Plant custodial crew for these
facilities. This position is responsible for the distribution of keys
and the building alarms for all athletic facilities. Will be
responsible for facility budgets and will assist with other facilities
and events as needed. Will also have decision making authority with
regard to facility maintenance issues with the University Physical
Plant.
Bachelor’s
degree required; must be detail oriented and possess effective verbal
and customer service skills; must have working knowledge of computers
and be willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays when required;
background in repairs or maintenance helpful. Experience in an athletic
department or multipurpose facility is preferred.
