Seating Policy for Patrons with Disabilities

Purpose & General Policy

This policy is to explain the procedures for seating patrons with disabilities and to assure, whenever possible, that patrons with disabilities or wheelchair accessible needs will have the same choice of admission prices and quality of locations that is otherwise available to the general public purchasing tickets at that time.

Further, whenever possible, patrons with disabilities will be seated adjacent to companions in a fashion similar to seating available to the general public purchasing tickets at that time.  In fairness to the greatest number of patrons requiring wheelchair accessible seating, guaranteed companion tickets in those areas will be limited to one companion for each wheelchair user.

WSU-ICAA is committed to working with patrons on a case-by-case basis to adequately accommodate individual needs.

Provision for sale of Wheelchair Accessible Seating Areas

All wheelchair accessible seating sections (W-Sections) are at row 14 (right as you enter from the concourse).

Season Ticket Point System

Season ticket holders are assigned a point total based on their yearly donation level, number of years as a current consecutive season ticket holder, number of years season tickets were purchased, and lifetime giving.  This point total determines the order for selection of season tickets.  Patrons with disabilities would also have to receive a point system total and pick their seats according to their total.

Men’s basketball has two price categories.  Wheelchair accessible seating is available in both price categories and is located at mid-court for all home games.  Wheelchair accessible seating is designed to allow one companion to sit adjacent to each wheelchair space.

WSU-ICAA has determined in order to accommodate more requests for wheelchair accessible seating, not all seats will be sold on a season basis.  Instead, a cap has been set to sell only 25 of these seats on a season basis.  The other 7 are held for individual game sales.  Of these 7, only 4 are released at the time of our on-sale dates.  The other 3 are held back to accommodate the needs of students in wheelchairs.

Student Tickets

Three (3) wheelchair and three (3) companion seats are held for students until 48 hours before game day.  Student tickets are free with a valid student id.  The companion seat could be purchased at the student guest price unless that is also for a student, which it would also be free with a valid id.

Sale of Season Wheelchair Accessible Seating Areas

Season tickets are available in all 6 of the W sections, however in sections 108W and 121W a donation is required to the Student Athletic Scholarship Organization (SASO) at the charter guardian donor level.  A patron in a wheelchair may choose any of the available seats provided they are not already allocated to another patron.

Sale of Single Game Wheelchair Accessible Seating Areas

Single game tickets are on a first come first serve basis, with 4 wheelchair and 4 companion seats being released on the on-sale date for games. The remaining 3 are held until 48 hours before the game for use by students, if these 3 remain 48 hours before the game, they will be opened up to the public.

WSU-ICAA has determined in order to accommodate more requests for wheelchair accessible seating, not all seats will be sold on a season basis.  Sections 121W and 108W will be held and sold as reserved season tickets or reserved single game tickets.  Sections 106W, 110W, 120W, and 122W will be used for general admission season tickets and single game tickets
