SAN MARCOS, Texas -  Santa Clara scored six runs in the 12th inning to defeat Wichita State 7-1 in 12 innings in the CenturyLink Bobcat Invitational.

Ryan Hege went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a double for the Shockers.  Starter Albert Minnis earned a no decision with 4.1 shutout innings, while Aaron LaBrie took the loss in relief.

Santa Clara got on the board first.  Justin Viele led off the fifth with a walk and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt.  A fielder's choice and catcher's interference loaded the bases and then Pat Stover hit a fly ball to left field to score Viele with a sac fly. Reliever Foster Vielock stranded the other two runners to leave the score at 1-0.

The Shockers answered with a run in the fifth.  Garrett Bayliff singled up the middle with one out and scored on a two-out double by Ryan Hege to tie the score at one.

The Broncos used three hits, five walks and two errors to score the six runs in the 12th.

The Shockers are next in action on Sun., Feb. 19 against Texas State at 3 p.m.
